All manuscripts are blind reviewed. We depend on, and are grateful for, the generosity of our manuscript reviewers. Their time and attention to your work is the foundation of our journals.

JHHSA, PAM, & PAQ:

We encourage reviewers to engage with and respond to your work in light of the mission of each journal, and to comment on the strength and readiness for publication of each manuscript in the following 6 areas:

  1. degree to which the work advances the field
  2. strength of connection to theory
  3. soundness of methods and results
  4. presentation
  5. style and structure of the writing
  6. readability

Each reviewer will then assess each manuscript's readiness for publication with one of the following: reject; revise and resubmit, conditionally accept, or accept. Rejected manuscripts will not be considered for future publication. Revise and resubmit does not constitute a guarantee of publication; it does indicate that the substance of the manuscript may be of benefit to the field, although extensive changes in line with reviewer recommendations may be necessary to bring the work to the standards of our journals. Multiple rounds of revision will be considered only in exceptional cases. Conditional acceptance recognizes that, with few minor changes, a manuscript will be ready for publication and that a final decision as to the manuscript's readiness will be made by the editorial staff without further consultation of the review board.

We attempt to secure insightful constructive reviews in as timely a manner as possible and aim to return a decision on manuscripts within 2 months.
